2007 was a very important year in Miguel’s career, as he competed in the World Series by Renault. He was the fastest driver in the Valencia pre-season test, a feat that made him one of the main drivers of that year. Despite his youth and lack of experience, he was third at the Nürburgring, second at Magny Cours and first in Estoril and Barcelona, thus meeting all expectations about him.2007 was a very important year in Miguel career, as he competed in the World Series by Renault. He was fastest in the Valencia pre-season test, a feat that made him one of the attractions of the championship.
One year later, in 2008, he was one of the main drivers of the championship again, winning in Germany and Portugal, finishing second in France and third in Hungary, thus becoming one of the favourite drivers in the fight for the 2009 title. But in that year, his team didn’t meet the expectations and at half-season he lost his seat.
It was a very tough moment, but Miguel kept training hard to be ready for the winter. That proved to be the right thing to do, as he received a call from Audi to test one of their DTM cars at the Almeria track. There he proved his worth and he became a works Audi driver for the 2010 DTM season.
