Free-Bike and Duatlhon

I’m always fit, but once the season was over I took some time off as I also need to rest. But now the new season is coming it’s time to be fit again fitness and tune my body and mind for the competition.
This year I’m practicing a new kind of sport, the duathlon, that combines running and bicycle. There’s the mountain variation of the sport as well, which is the one I do. My first experience was in a race between Lloret and the neighbour town of Blanes. There was a 2-lap (5 km in total) section, an 18 km bicycle section and then another running lap.
Blanes company Free-Bike kindly lends me a BTT Orbea bike for the year and I can’t thank them enough. They also lend bikes to my friends Maverick Viñales, Moto3 rider, and Àngel Mullera, 3000 meters steeplechase athlete, as we all three use them for our trainning.
The race was tough but really satisfying. I completed the race in less than two hours, but I wasn’t competing for the win as my focus was on trying to understand how I can use this kind of trainning. It was a very positive experience.
Duathlon helps you phisically and emotionally as it’s demanding and takes time to complete, so you must be mentally strong. It’s a good kind of trainning that helps me tackle bigger challenges, so I’ll soon participate in my second duathlon, this time at Porqueres, close to the well-known lake of Banyoles, in Girona.
