“Extracurricular” activities

• After school, there usually are other additional activities to do, and the same happens to me with my job as a racing driver. Contrary to what some may think, these other activities keep me quite busy outside the races.

  For instance, I participated in an ad filmed at the Lleida airport for the football match Madrid-Barcelona. It was an amazing experience that gave me a proper idea about how complex are some of the ads we see on TV, with all those spectacular shots.

  I also attended the Audi End of Season Awards Presentation, held at the impressive auditorium of the Audi Forum at Neckarsulm, where we celebrated the victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the DTM, the 24 Hours of Spa and many others in countless races and championships. As you can see from the photo gallery, there were some of the victorious cars.

  These additional activities also happen throughout the year. In summer I was with Martin Tomczyk at the Kiel Week, the ‘Kieler Woche’ in German, the largest sailing event in the world with thousands of ships of all kinds and where Audi participates through various activities. We were very lucky to be invited to sail a catamaran, as you can see from those spectacular pictures, but I can assure you that Martin and I are far better racing cars than sailing ships!
